We envisage a sustainable primary industry support mechanism that contributes to the Cook Islands economy in a manner that is respectful of environmental, social, and cultural values and meaningful in terms of primary produce, local & export supply. The primary industry support mechanism will drive business volume, income & profit, return on investment, balance of trade, positive cash inflow and the sharing & distribution of wealth & economic benefit within the Cook Islands.

The mission is to establish a Cook Islands Food Producers Coop – ‘Kia Orana Kai Natura Taokotai [KNT]’ to support, upskill, innovate our primary producers’ farm businesses. KNT’s mission, on behalf of its members, will also mitigate the risks associated with agricultural, horticultural & marine production, commercial business operations & the export of primary produce.

KNT is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet farmer’s common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically controlled Cooperative Company.

The Cooperative movement is based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity. In the tradition of our ancestors, cooperative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and working for our common good.
